A step by step guide to using Wedding Weekender

We’re excited that you’re considering renting a Wedding Weekender camcorder for your special weekend!

When you rent our camcorders for your celebration, you'll capture authentic, candid moments throughout your wedding weekend. While professional videography certainly has its place, our camcorders will document spontaneous moments, behind-the-scenes fun, and heartfelt interactions with your guests through the eyes of those you love most.

We've created a simple step-by-step guide to help you use the camcorder effectively during your busy wedding weekend. After your event, we handle all the professional editing, transforming the raw footage into a wedding video you'll treasure for years to come. Let's get to it!

1. Receiving your camcorder

Your Wedding Weekender box will arrive 5-8 days before your event with your camcorder all ready to record with one fully charged battery and empty memory card already placed in the device. Your box will also include additional batteries to bring along for your weekend and you can easily swap out when your first battery dies (which will be after about 3 hours of recording). We’ll also include a charger in your box in case it’s needed throughout the weekend.

2. Do a test run

While our camcorders are designed to be user-friendly, we recommend doing a quick test recording before your wedding weekend begins. This allows you to get comfortable with the equipment and ensures everything is working properly before the celebrations start.

To help you get started, we provide:

  • A detailed instruction manual & guiding stickers on your camcorder for key buttons

  • An online video tutorial accessible via QR code on the camcorder

3. Assign your loved ones to help capture your moments

The beauty of Wedding Weekender is your special moments will be authentically captured by the people who love you most. We want to help you plan ahead with ideas for unforgettable footage while still keeping the spontaneity that makes these recordings so precious.

In your Wedding Weekender box, we'll include a QR code to an organized sheet that outlines our recommended shot list of moments to try to capture over your weekend. For example, making sure your father's speech or ceremony vows don't go uncaptured. You’ll have the option to edit this sheet yourself and assign loved ones to anything you want recorded over your weekend. Whether it’s your trusted bridesmaid capturing you getting ready, your aunt recording the ceremony, or your brother running around the dance floor, we want to make sure you go into your weekend feeling good about your moments being captured.

4. Capture your wedding weekend!

Wedding weekend is here! Your camcorder is all ready to go, you’ve tested it, and your loved ones know what they’re capturing.

Reminder that each of your included camcorder batteries will last up to 8 hours when recording in 4K. Make sure that you have your other batteries (that are already fully charged) nearby the camcorder during the day so you’re prepared for when you need to swap in the new one.

Your provided memory card can store up to 8 hours of 4K footage, which typically stays well within the included battery life, so charging shouldn't be necessary during your weekend. However, if the camcorder accidentally gets left running during your pre-wedding celebrations, don't worry - your Wedding Weekender box includes a charger so you can quickly recharge a battery overnight.

If any of your loved ones have questions on how the camcorder works, remind them that an online video tutorial is accessible via QR code on the camcorder. Finally, if you need immediate assistance during your wedding weekend, our support team is available by text to help resolve any issues quickly.

5. Ship back your camcorder

We can’t wait to see all of the moments you captured! To return your camcorder, all you have to do is pack it up in the box it was initially shipped in — be sure to include everything from the original box. We include a prepaid shipping label to add to the outside of the box. Once packed, just drop the package off at your local UPS. We kindly ask that you please return the camcorder within 72 hours of your event.

6. Edit time!

As soon as your camcorder arrives, our passionate editing team jumps right in to work their magic on your captured moments. Within just one week, we'll have your raw footage beautifully organized and ready for you to review. Then the real fun begins! In the following two weeks, we'll craft your complete wedding video, transforming those precious moments into a cinematic keepsake you'll cherish forever.

7. Embrace your wedding memories

Get ready to smile, laugh, and maybe shed a tear as you watch all those special moments your loved ones helped capture transform into your very own wedding story! Pop your wedding video on during anniversaries, random Tuesday nights, or whenever you need a smile! Each time you watch, you'll notice something new and feel those memories all over again. Your wedding weekend flies by so fast, but with your video, those amazing moments are yours to revisit anytime!

  • We recommend booking 2-3 months in advance to guarantee availability. However, we’re welcome to bookings up to 1 month before your event date.

  • Your Wedding Weekender box with your camcorder should arrive 5-8 days before your wedding event date.

  • No! Our camcorders arrive ready-to-go and are easy for anyone to turn on and start capturing with. We include instructions within your box and have guiding stickers on the camcorder so anyone that picks up the camcorder throughout the weekend knows what to click!

  • We test and set up each camcorder before it packaged for shipping but we still recommend you follow our instructions to test your camcorder before your weekend. If for some reason the camcorder is not working, please email us at weddingweekenderinfo@gmail.com right away and we will expedite a new one.

  • We understand accidents happen but we ask that you kindly let us know immediately if your camcorder is lost or broken. Please refer to our Rental Agreement for our terms if damage is occured.

  • We’ll share your organized raw footage within one week of receiving your camcorder. After organizing your footage, we’ll get to editing your wedding video and be ready to share within two weeks time!
